FAQs

Where are you located?

I am physically located near Providence, RI and all sessions are currently held online via Zoom. Each session is a 1:1 with me.

You are welcome to split the session with a friend! Just let me know so I can meet both of you ahead of the first session.

If you are near Providence, it is possible I could travel to you. Feel free to email if this is something you’d like to arrange!

Who do you work with?

Cancer Exercise
I am a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, and use a combination of modalities, including clinical somatics and functional fitness, to help clients gain mobility, strength and balance through their treatment plan, after any surgeries and beyond. I specialize in breast cancer exercise, working through issues such as axillary cording and lymphedema. As always, clients must have a doctor’s clearance to exercise.

Circus Cross-training
If you’re a circus performer or trainer, you know how easy it is to only train your apparatus! Cross-training is an excellent way to reduce your risk of injury, increase non-apparatus strength, and improve overall fitness. In addition to being certified as a personal trainer, I am well-versed (and always learning more) in training those with hypermobility and EDS, which is more common amongst circus performers and trainers.

Cross-training can improve longevity in your circus career, too, and hey! It’s fun!

Personal Training
If you’re brand-new to fitness, never set foot in a gym, or find the whole situation overwhelming, we will start exactly where you are!

If you’re old-hat, love to work out but returning from an injury, we will also start exactly where you are!

No matter where you’re starting, we will start with a zoom call conversation to discuss your history with fitness and what your goals are.

I’m new to working out. What do I need to bring or wear?

First of all: welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I run online training sessions using Zoom. Bring yourself! Wear comfortable clothing you can move in (jeans are often limiting, but anything stretchy that you like wearing works great).

You will be in your very own space, so have enough room to take a few steps in every direction without furniture getting in the way.

Our very first session is a meeting where I listen to what brought you to me, and what you’d like to work on. That, plus your available space, will help me organize the material we will work on in our sessions together.

I just had cancer surgery. Can you help me get back into shape?

Congratulations on getting this far!

In our first meeting, we will discuss your treatment and current physical health and fitness goals. I will need a doctor’s clearance for you to exercise as well as any restrictions you may have.

As an aside, there is no “back in shape,” we will go forward with the body and soul you have, taking all of it with you. Bodies are different after surgery, and we will take slow and careful steps.

Yay! I want to work with you! How do I do that?

Awesome! First, schedule an initial meeting with me. This is a 45 minute block in which we will discuss what brought you here, what your goals are, what your fitness background is, and anything else on your mind.
